When winding down on Monday evening John Jones, Manager at The Kennedy Centre in Belfast, received one of those messages that stop you in your tracks – he would be receiving a visit from a government minister the next morning! The Kennedy Centre would be hosting the Minister of Finance, Conor Murphy, as he announced further Covid-19 support funding and there was likely to be a significant press presence.
John immediately contacted his account team at Mercury Security and Facilities Management (MSFM) and a rapid reaction team of security, cleaning and maintenance personnel, under the leadership of David Queen and Helen Hamill, were mobilised to ensure that all the necessary logistics were in place for a visit of this magnitude. With all business currently being affected by Covid-19 absences, it could have been a significant challenge for everyone concerned.
With everyone pulling in the same direction, the visit was a great success and received significant press coverage, including TV footage showing The Kennedy Centre looking in fine condition.
The work of the MSFM team has not gone un-noticed - ‘The entire MSFM team pulled together at such short notice. They changed shift times, came in early and ensured the visit was a success.
