Castlecourt and Mercury Security Win Top UK Award

Local partnership named Best Security Team at SCEPTRE Awards in London

One of the country’s premier shopping centre’s CastleCourt and Irish security company Mercury Security & Facilities Management have been named the Best Security Team in Ireland and the United Kingdom at a prestigious industry awards ceremony in London.

The SCEPTRE Awards are the ‘Oscars’ of the shopping centre industry and recognise the best practice and the best people throughout Ireland and Britain, putting the spotlight on management teams, retailers and suppliers that demonstrate real excellence.

At the prestigious ceremony in London’s Dorchester Hotel, the collaboration between CastleCourt and Mercury beat off all competitors to win the Best Security Team award for the second time in four years.  Judges praised CastleCourt for achieving “great results in a challenging environment”.

Highly commended in the category were The Galleries Shopping Centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear, and Cwmbran Shopping Centre, the second biggest centre in Wales.

Stewart McConnell, CastleCourt Security Manager, said:  “We are thrilled, both for ourselves and for our partners at Mercury Security, to receive this accolade once again from our industry.  At CastleCourt, we pride ourselves on the excellent standards of security we have maintained over the years, and we continue to work closely to Mercury to enhance that service in a very customer-focussed way.”

Liam Cullen, Mercury’s Regional Director UK and Ireland, said:  “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award which again recognises the wonderful work that has been carried out by CastleCourt and Mercury Security staff and is a credit to the hard work and commitment of the entire team.  Our integrated solution of manned guards alongside the latest security technology, supported by our award-winning NSI Gold Command and Control Monitoring Centre, continues to provide vital protection to the Centre and its tenants and it is very satisfying to see this gain national recognition for a second time.”

The contract is serviced by Mercury utilising a core team of well-equipped and fully trained security officers, with fast access to additional support and resources if required, along with additional skilled staff with extensive customer relations to man the Customer Service desk.
